Very enjoyable and instructive, Nate, particularly when you removed the pieces from the board to discuss the pawn structure. I also share your fascination, by the way, with non-flashy wins.

Well done video! I found it to be both instructive and entertaining. I say this because the video format is quite an enjoyable medium for chess instruction. Also, you do seem to have a gift for teaching. You are able to distill and expound a particular chess concept with a minimum of 'details', e.g. reams of analysis, and this is very helpful for the learner. I've found everything you've said in your newsletters and now in this video to be instructive, without 'going overboard' and drowning your readers ( and now , your viewers! ) with explanations. Concise and to the point you are and it is appreciated !

Seems to me where GMs differ from amateurs is the ability to filter out bad moves and not beat themselves. Sounds simple right?

I believe this is what the famous studies by De Groot found - the difference between GMs and weaker players had more to do with candidate moves than analysis. That still leaves the big question of how do you get better at finding the right candidate moves!
