Thanks for another interesting read. What do you think determines whether positions/patterns are internalised or not? Blitz may be sufficient for young players with a lot of plasticity but doesn’t seem too effective for adults. And presumably good/appropriate moves have to be internalised in tandem with positions in order to positively affect playing strength.

So one needs to play thousands of blitz games to see and internalize a large number of positions?
Not necessarily, but you will probably have to process a large number of positions one way or another.
